Careers: Planning and Decision Making

Bay Area Workforce Development WIOA Career Services Specialists offer assessments to help identify how personality, interests, aptitudes, and abilities fit into today's job market. These assessments will help career and job seekers make strong education and career plans for the future.

Career Awareness

Bay Area Workforce Development WIOA Career Services Specialists provide job seekers guidance toward obtaining the skills needed to set goals and make successful career choices. Program participants will become aware of the current occupational trends and strategies available for career exploration. This is a class held in conjunction with the GED/HSED orientation - fees may apply.

Employability Skills

This workshop is required for the HSED and will teach skills necessary to gain employment.

Wisconsin Careers

Wisconsin Careers is an easy-to-use web site that will guide you through the career planning and decision-making process as well as assist you with your job search. Take a guest tour that will give you an introduction to the WISCareers site - take assessments, research schools, and see how WISCareers can help you plan for a successful career. WISCareers also includes tools for you to create a resumé and build a budget, along with resources for education professionals. To register, contact the Green Bay Job Center and request a registration code or visit the Brown County Job Center Resource Room.

WORKnet

WORKnet is a website providing a variety of information on Wisconsin's Workforce. This easy to follow website offers a variety of career and labor market information to the job seeker including:

  • County Summary - A snapshot of the selected county
  • Employer Search - Allows a search by employer name, size, industry, classification and also provides maps of employer locations.
  • Occupational Search - Provides a wide variety of occupational information including wages, employment projections, and employment by industry and training providers.
